Nomad Cowork started in the beginning of 2021. The original idea was to create a coworking space in Lombok, Indonesia and enable people to work remotely in paradise-like locations. Then COVID-19 changed work, travel, and the life of all of us. The idea of a single coworking space shifted.
Saleh envisioned how the pandemic would accelerate remote working once travel restrictions were lifted, and loved the idea of enabling people to work wherever they love to be. Instead of creating one coworking space, he decided to connect coworking spaces from similar locations like Lombok to potential remote workers. He wanted to inspire people to work away from home.
Saleh created the first prototype of the platform in January 2021. He showed this prototype to one of his best friends, Jean Carlo, and commented him on his idea. Jean Carlo saw the opportunity clear and started to bump ideas with Saleh on how the platform could scale.
Jean Carlo developed a go-to-market strategy to acquire coworking spaces and professionals into the platform. Together with Saleh they shaped the first version of what Nomad Cowork would look like.
In June 2021, the first CoWorking spaces were added onto the platform and in July the first potential remote professionals made their bookings on nomadcowork.com.
